Message The direction of heat transfer will be outward from the pipes.

The air after the ICs has been cooled but it is still hot. You will realize this when you put the pipes on. That air going into the throttle bodies is much hotter than ambient air temps. Some people have temp sensors mounted and I believe that the intake temperature at that point in the system are *well* over 100 degrees F.
